i just red your story in Berlin with Sophia. Funny and scary at the same time. I own a motorcycle and i want to travel around south america, with mu girlfriend, some day. Some people that already have done it, tell me there is nothing to fear about it, but with your story, i don´t know if to go ahead and do it or just stay at home here in Ecuador and save some more money to be able to get a hotel LOL,

Yo Vinny! Don’t be scared to go for it! That was not the purpose of that Couchsurfing story. If you recall, at the end of the post I detail how the overwhelming majority of my experiences with CS have been great, and that it was my own fault that I didn’t do the due diligence when researching Sophia’s profile. After having been on the road the past few years, I can confidently tell you that almost everyone you meet wants to help you, not take advantage of you. Of course there are some bad apples out there, but I am consistently blown away by the amazing, friendly people around the world (on Couchsurfing and in real life).

PLEASE take your motorcyle and your girl and travel around South America, you won’t regret it.

      cheers,

      Ford
