Sie sagen, dass Sie entweder ein Berg Person oder ein Strand Person sind. Now I don’t be discriminatin between the two, but one thing is for sure – this past summer’s epic roadtrip around the USA was all about the mountains.

Ich bekenne, dass ich über Glacier Nationalpark bis in den letzten Jahren noch nie gehört hatte,. Everyone knows about the mountains in Colorado & California, but Glacier National Park in Montana? Nicht so viel.

But after spending a full week there, and nearly 2 months zig-zagging down the spine of the US Rocky Mountains, I am publicly declaring Glacier Nationalpark der schönste Stück Land zu sein, das ich je gesehen im Land gelegt haben.

George Bird Grinnell gave Glacier National Park this nickname in 1901, und das aus gutem Grund. Glacier National Park displays some of the most spektakulären Gletschern geformten Gelände überall auf dem Planeten.

Auch wenn die Berge im Glacier NP sind nicht so groß wie einige andere Abschnitte der Rockies, diese massiven Gletscher wurden Meißeln entfernt majestätisch schiefe Spitzen zu bilden, drastically vertical valleys, and deep blue, crystal-clear lakes for millions of years. We saw multiple glaciers from afar, but took the opportunity to get up close and personal with Grinnell Glacier overlook. Thank God we visited the park in July, because literally the week after we left the Reynolds Creek Wildland Fire broke out & quickly engulfed entire sections of the park. Ein großer Teil wurde der Park evakuiert, reservations were cancelled, and many summer plans ruined.

Of course nothing like this can be predicted, but with studies showing that both fire frequency & documented burn areas are increasing, it’s probably best to visit Glacier National Park sooner rather than later.

Es ist mehr überfüllt Every Year

Im 2014, mehr Menschen besucht National Park Service-Sites als jedes andere Jahr in der Geschichte – 292.8 Millionen Menschen genau zu sein. 2014 war auch ein Jahr in spezifisch für Glacier Nationalpark Rekord.

The point of national parks is to go & Natur erleben in höchster Vollendung, und Massen von Shutter-Klick Touristen herumlaufen & unter selfies kann nur aus dieser Erfahrung ablenken!

Hidden Lake Overlook hike, and down to lake shore – where we saw the grizzly bears!

Highline Trail – Logan Pass to “The Loop” 12 mile hike – one of most scenic hikes on Earth

St. Marys See – a scenic lake to relax all day in the sun & contemplate the view

Visit Glacier National Park Before It Changes!

These aren’t scare tactics. Dies ist kein Verkaufsargument. Ich bin nur leidenschaftlich über erstaunliche Orte mit anderen Menschen teilen. Especially if those places are in danger of changing forever, then I want to communicate a sense of urgency.

There is no doubt that climate change is quickly and negatively affecting the beauty & Ökosystem des Parks, so take advantage of living in 2015 and go visit Glacier National Park while it still has glaciers! Sadly, we may be part of the last generation that actually has that opportunity.
